What is kidney failure?


The kidneys serve to detoxify the blood by filtering waste (toxins) produced by the body, maintaining the balance of water and electrolytes, producing hormones, regulating blood pressure and vitamin D, and helping in the creation of red blood cells.
Kidney disease can present in two forms: chronic kidney failure and acute kidney failure.


Chronic kidney failure is the result of a slow and insidious process that develops over months or even years. The symptoms do not necessarily raise suspicion at first, so when the disease is diagnosed, the animal's kidneys are already no longer doing their job for the most part. Votre traitement semble fonctionner, la vétérinaire pense que mon chat n’ aurait au final pas de pb d insuffisance rénale tant les résultats d’analyse ( prise de sang ) sont excellents. Je dois faire une échographie prochainement pour m’assurer que tout va bien. Je poursuis votre traitement. Emma est une maincoon de 11h avec une insuffisance rénale débutante et detectée par son ostéophyte il y a 4 moins environ. Pour l’instant, elle va bien et cela été confirmé lors d’une récente visite chez le vétérinaire (sans prise de sang sur la dernière visite). Elle est plutôt active pour son âge et nous la trouvons en forme. J’injecte le médicament avec un peu d’eau à l’aide d’une seringue dans la bouche, elle l’accepte très volontiers.En parallèle, elle prend a des croquettes adaptées et une alimentation que je tente d’adapter à sa pathologie même si cela reste difficile pour elle de changer son mode alimentaire (elle préfère manger comme son compagnon lui âgé de 4 ans seulement).

What is kidney failure?

Votre traitement semble fonctionner, la vétérinaire pense que mon chat n’ aurait au final pas de pb d insuffisance rénale tant les résultats d’analyse ( prise de sang ) sont excellents. Je dois faire une échographie prochainement pour m’assurer que tout va bien. Je poursuis votre traitement. Emma est une maincoon de 11h avec une insuffisance rénale débutante et detectée par son ostéophyte il y a 4 moins environ. Pour l’instant, elle va bien et cela été confirmé lors d’une récente visite chez le vétérinaire (sans prise de sang sur la dernière visite). Elle est plutôt active pour son âge et nous la trouvons en forme. J’injecte le médicament avec un peu d’eau à l’aide d’une seringue dans la bouche, elle l’accepte très volontiers.En parallèle, elle prend a des croquettes adaptées et une alimentation que je tente d’adapter à sa pathologie même si cela reste difficile pour elle de changer son mode alimentaire (elle préfère manger comme son compagnon lui âgé de 4 ans seulement).
