10 LEÇONS DE VIE QUE LES CHIENS NOUS ENSEIGNENT

10 LIFE LESSONS DOGS TEACH US

“I love dogs. They don't care about my differences, my style, my material possessions, or my popularity. They are never ashamed of me, nor do they wonder if I'll get along with their friends. They love and accept me as I am, unconditionally.”

This sentence, spoken by a friend of ours, could have been spoken by many of us. We all love dogs for different reasons, but also for one common reason: their unconditional love. In fact, we have a lot to learn from them when it comes to simplicity and joie de vivre.

A quick look at the 10 life lessons that dogs teach us every day:

  1. LOYALTY

There are thousands of touching stories of loyalty on the web. It's true, a dog is man's best friend, it's not just an expression. You can always count on them. You could lose everything... your dog will always be by your side.

This reminds us that fidelity and loyalty are essential to building a true friendship. We want to be that friend. And that's what we look for in others too. Mutual trust is essential to a beautiful relationship. Our dogs remind us of this every day.

  1. AUTHENTICITY

Your dog is himself, he never pretends to be someone else. Crazy, sad, happy... he doesn't care what others will think of his mood or actions.

That's what makes him so adorable.

Be as adorable as your dog, be yourself! Pretending to be someone other than who you really are can't make you happy. If you're authentic, people are drawn to you.

  1. SPONTANEITY

Who says you have to stop playing at a certain age? Life is short! Have fun! Your dog doesn't care how old he is! As long as he can still play, he's happy.

We too need to move and play! Playing sports and exercising is a way to play. So, be spontaneous! Take out your bike, race your children, go for a walk in nature, play with your grandchildren and... your dog!

Play isn't just for animals and young children. It's good for the body, mind, and heart—both physically and symbolically.

  1. FORGIVENESS

If you scolded your dog or deprived him of his little treat, would he be mad at you the next day? No. It's inconceivable. Your dog still loves you and is ready to celebrate whenever YOU want.

We humans tend to easily harbor resentment and grudges. We could be so much happier if we were more forgiving. It's much less emotionally taxing and healthier! Choose to be happy and forgive.

  1. COMPASSION

Who is often the first to come to you when you cry or feel upset? Your dog. They are always there to comfort you. Owning a dog is a great way to teach your children about compassion and caring for others.

A small thought or attention for someone may seem insignificant, but it can go a long way. Everyone goes through difficult times in their lives. Be there for others.

  1. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

True unconditional love is when someone loves you exactly as you are, regardless of your flaws, your appearance, your possessions, or the hardships you're going through. Our dogs do this. Do we love them back as much? Do we love our family and true friends unconditionally?

  1. APPRECIATION OF THE PRESENT MOMENT

Dogs live every moment to the fullest. They don't think about yesterday or tomorrow. They listen to their needs in the moment. Whether it's playing ball, sleeping, or eating, they appreciate what's happening in the present moment. And they're right!

By always worrying about tomorrow or thinking about the past, we miss out on some beautiful moments.

  1. SELF-ACCEPTANCE

Dogs come in all shapes and sizes.

Is your dog unhappy with his appearance? Of course not.

And us? We also have all sorts of appearances and tend to compare ourselves to others. To do this, we try to change... but what if instead we loved ourselves as we are? Wouldn't we be happier? Imitate your dog and love your unique characteristics.

  1. ATTENTION PAID TO OTHERS

You woke up late, had a bad day at work, were stuck in traffic for ages before getting home... and finally, you arrive! Who's there to greet you with lots of love? Your dog, of course. He gives you a warm welcome and makes you smile.

Even after a difficult day, do we take the time to pay attention to those we love, to sit down with them to discuss their day, to tell them we love them? It's these little things that will make our days more beautiful.

  1. ENTHUSIASM

When treated well, a dog is enthusiastic and can be happy with anything. Dogs really enjoy the little things: going for a walk, playing fetch, and eating, for example.

It reminds us to leave our negative thoughts behind and think more positively.

The colorful and charming personalities of our furry friends truly teach us a lot. Their unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship truly affect our emotional well-being in a positive way.
