What is parvovirus in animals?


Parvovirus is a potentially fatal infection caused by the canine parvovirus (or CPV). It can affect both dogs and cats and is extremely contagious.


The infection targets the digestive system, causing severe diarrhea and vomiting. This causes dehydration and electrolyte imbalances that can become fatal within 48 to 72 hours. There is no treatment for parvo, so the main course of action is to keep the animal fed and hydrated. If left untreated, the patient will die.


What are the symptoms of parvovirus in animals?

What are the possible causes of parvovirus in animals?

The virus is so contagious that animals can catch it simply by sniffing where another infected animal has been. Therefore, puppies and kittens that have not yet been vaccinated should be kept away from areas frequented by other animals, such as dog parks, boarding kennels, and even popular walking trails. And when taken to the veterinarian, they should be kept in their carrier and off the ground.

Je donne le traitement Piptoanimo + tonic + Cordyceps depuis maintenant 1 mois à mon chat atteint d’un mastocytome et pour le moment il va très bien.
