What is parvovirus in animals?


Parvovirus is a potentially fatal infection caused by the canine parvovirus (or CPV). It can affect both dogs and cats and is extremely contagious.


The infection targets the digestive system, causing severe diarrhea and vomiting. This causes dehydration and electrolyte imbalances that can become fatal within 48 to 72 hours. There is no treatment for parvo, so the main course of action is to keep the animal fed and hydrated. If left untreated, the patient will die.


What are the symptoms of parvovirus in animals?

  • Blood in stool

What are the possible causes of parvovirus in animals?


Parvovirus can be contracted through direct or indirect contact with another infected animal (most often, unvaccinated animals). The virus is so contagious that animals can catch it simply by sniffing where another infected animal has been. Therefore, puppies and kittens that have not yet been vaccinated should be kept away from areas frequented by other animals, such as dog parks, boarding kennels, and even popular walking trails. And when taken to the veterinarian, they should be kept in their carrier and off the ground.

Mario a un lymphome et je lui donne piptoanimo en complément de sa chimio en cours. J'ai donné la note de 7 ( ce qui n'est pas si mal !) car même si les résultats cliniques sont satisfaisants, les effets secondaires de la chimio sont là, et je crois que piptoanimo n'aide pas assez son organisme à surmonter ces gros désagréments, même si j’espère très fort qu'il agit positivement en profondeur, à la base du mal....
Y a t-il un produit qui pourrait aider Mario à mieux supporter ses chimios et eviter les désordres digestifs qui s'ensuivent ( diarrhée, perte d'appétit)
